The 5th Asian Biomaterial Congress, ABMC5

On 6 and 9 May 2015 was the fifth Asian Biomaterials Congress (ABMC5). At the 2015 ABMC5 Meeting in Taipei, more than 500 attendees gathered from 13 countries to exchange knowledge on emerging topics in Biomaterials, nanotechnology, biosynthesis of polymeric biomaterials, tissue engineering for drug delivery and regenerative medicine. The ABMC5 brought together experts in biomaterial science around the world and the attendees took full advantage of organized events and scientific section such as plenary lectures, scientific sections of the conference : drug and gene delivery, polymeric biomaterials, surface modification and biological response, emerging technology in biomaterials design and characterization, tissue engineering, micro/nano-scale biomaterials and diagnostic devices/imaging theranostics, ABMC banquet, student and young scientist award competition and a special section – publishing in Biomaterials, discussion led by Biomaterial editorial board.

Invited speakers, graduate students, and industry experts gave lectures or scientific reports to deliver the cutting-edge studies and technologies on all aspects of biomaterials science. In 2015 ABMC5, over 70 speakers delivered excellent podium presentations.

In the fifth Asian Biomaterials Congress, 200 posters were on display, presenting cutting-edge research from academia and industry. The ABMC meeting scheduled time for poster authors to meet and discuss with attendees to exchange the experience, learn the valuable suggestions and make international connections.
